Benefits of a Caffeine Wrap

Wraps which contain caffeine are extremely effective and have a multitude of benefits, usually there is between 3 and 5% of caffeine present which is a good balance to ensure best results. Caffeine is a major stimulate when it is applied to areas affected with cellulite and fatty deposits and will effectively unclog the tissues. A caffeine wrap will help increase the metabolism, help increase the blood flow and facilitates the swift burning of fat in the adjoining areas. Caffeine plays an important part in the fat burning process itself and this is reinforced when used in conjunction with algae extracts.  

Such body wraps are able to stimulate the process of Lipolysis (fat burning) and are able to remove fat which is accumulated in the adipocytes, the cells in which fat is stored. Caffeine is a decongestant, a property which is reinforced by the other “draining” plant extracts such as ivy and horse chestnut. The texture of the product should be light like a slightly gelled emulsion and soft enough to be massaged into the affected areas. This is important as with this anti-cellulite treatment the massage plays a very important role in firstly assisting the product to penetrate into the skin and secondly it aides in the drainage of Lipolysis. In order to have a complete slimming action an anti-cellulite treatment/creams or gels should have one or more ingredients that will promote peripheral microcirculation and fat burning. Following this caffeine wrap cellulite is visibly reduced and the tissues are effectively unclogged resulting in skin that is smoother, softer, firmer and noticeably slimmer.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF A CAFFEINE BODY WRAP PROTOCOL 

This is an easy and straight forward treatment to perform and has little to no preparation time and very little clear up time.

A Two Stage Process 
Stage 1- The first step of the treatment consists of massaging active gels and cream into the areas of concern. The treated areas are then covered with cling film or saran wrap. The client then lies and relaxes for 30-40 minutes or 20 minutes in a heated blanket.

Stage 2- Remove the film/saran wrap and any excess product is removed with tissue or steam towels. The last product is then massaged in vigorously to the areas being treated ensuring that you massage in an upward rolling action this is important to promote fat separation.

Why a slimming wrap with caffeine is efficient? 
Caffeine is an excellent, active and powerful Lipolytic (ability to break down fat)  It causes a cascading action which leads to help the retrieval of fat cells, it inhibits glucose storage and helps slow the growth of these fat cells Adipocytes (fat cells) are located at the hypodermis, very deep into the skin. This layer is vascularised and therefore allows penetration and absorption of a percentage of caffeine into the blood, however the dose likely to penetrate the fat cells would be lessthan the quantity absorbed when drinking coffee. It is always a smaller proportion that is used in dermal applications.

PRE AND POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS THE THERAPIST SHOULD GIVE THE CLIENT RECEIVING A CAFFEINE BODY WRAP

Pre- 
- It is advisable to apply products onto a clean skin.
-Not suitable for use when client is pregnant or breastfeeding
-Wait 2 to 3 days before waxing client or using spray tan
-Patch test advisable on clients with sensitive skin

Post- 
-Shower after 2-4 hours if you have sensitive skin.
-Drink a pint of water following treatment to flush out toxins which have been released during the treatment. -Enhance results by using the homecare kit between professional treatments. -It is recommended to have a course of treatments 1 or 2 treatments per week, leaving 48 hours between treatments.
